Hey guys...we are in New Zealand...12 hours ahead of Europe!
We arrived 3 days ago and rented a car (Nissan "Sunny"). We made our way south to Rotorua. The town is world famous for mud pools, hot springs and geysers. From there we reached the east coast of
the Northern Island. Beautiful scenery.
Since NZ is extremely expensive (a night in a hostel costs 50 CHF/USD!) we slept in the car on night...it was so cold...roughly 8 degrees outside...:-)...anyway...we got up at six and headed
straight to the 24/7 McD for a hot coffee:-)...
Yesterday, we went north again for the Coromandel Island. Again, a lot of cows, sheep and goats as well as breathtaking and isolated beaches. The roads there were quite curvy...a lot of fun for
oli, obviously :-)..we also hit a nice gravel road where I could show my skills as an off road rally pilot...:-)...I always said...I have "fuel in my blood" :0
Today, we browsed through Auckland city...and the harbour. At the moment the city hosts the "Louis Vitton Sailing Cup" with international teams competing....we saw the "local" Emirates New Zeeland
Boat.
Now we are ready for a warm beach again...tomorrow we are off to HAWAII! Yeah.. bring on the grass skirts and hulahula :-)..
cheers Oli
